Foosball VR will likely have a very specific niche audience that it appeals to, largely due to its price and functionality. The game is entirely a foosball simulator. It aims to give you the experience of playing the popular table top game in a real world setting (a pub, in this case) with convincing mechanics. And it achieves this quite admirably. The controls are smooth, the ball physics realistic, the table satisfying. The setting feels authentic—although the only occupant is the bartender, who just stands there with his arms folded. Perhaps some more people and atmospheric noise would improve the feel of the game. The problem is that this is all it does. And while Foosball VR looks a lot nicer than your average VR tech demo, it still feels like one functionally.
Not Much Bang For Your Buck
Foosball VR is a polished, slick game with obvious attention to detail. Unfortunately there just isn't enough there to justify the relatively high price tag. Whether it be other game modes, more settings, a career mode of some kind, this game needs something.
